As much as I love art, I also love words which is why I decided to have a blog on my site. Fortunately, I grew up in a family that loved books and I was always encouraged to express myself creatively. I wrote lots of little stories, plays and poems when I was young, enjoyed learning the piano and the flute plus played and played with the kids in the neighborhood which probably developed the strongest creative muscles of all. Later, my parents – who never met an impulsive idea they didn’t like – moved us from the suburbs to a farm. I was in heaven. Animals, lots of room to roam, a river…inspiration everywhere.

Although we had lots of other issues within my family, I’ve always held close one thing they gave me: The belief that I was a creator. That belief was like a shiny, gold coin I kept in my pocket, could spend over and over in many different ways and it never disappeared. Sometimes it got lost among the other things I kept in my pocket but it was there! I still use that coin and it’s just as shiny and new as the first day I recognized it as mine.

I think we all have a shiny, gold coin in our pocket and if you don’t believe me just dig around you will find it. I promise. Once you have it in your hand you should spend it over and over and over again. We are all so wealthy with our imaginations, skills, and our love. Be sure to share it.
